I Was Engaged

This year you proposed, we announced our engagement to the world, and we will declare our love by vows before the witness of all those who matter to you and me... but truth be told, I was engaged long before the announcement was made. I was engaged by your eyes, I was engaged by the way you made mine smile, I was engaged by the things you excitedly talk about that I'd never know about, but now I do, I do, I do, & I hope I always make you feel heard, I was engaged by your touch on my skin, your caress of my cheek, yes, and like then it might be more well said that we are enraptured by each other, and that's the fi & last word of 2024.
