Stories people carry.

Chris the Poet is a Miami native, writer, and educator. His work draws from the city and its people, from family, conversation, music, memory, and the stories people carry.

At his poetry table, a stranger may offer three words, a story, or the name of someone they love. Chris listens, turns to the typewriter, and writes the poem the moment calls for. Each person leaves with the original page.

Chris is enrolled in FIU’s Creative Writing MFA program. His work has appeared in Islandia Subtropical Journal, Heatwave Visions Journal, Summur Magazine, and South Florida Poetry Journal.
