Resolution

We write lists, lips tingle from more than just the new year's ki ss on January 1st. We speak of resolutions, more th -an one—we speak of health, we speak of aspirations in love & wealth, we define our new selves But I find it curious that we speak of starting on resolution when resolution refers, most often, to the end, to the pages of the story that follow the climax and falling action, the closing thoughts, or the peace made in the wake of a conflict—well, here we are at the end of another revolution around the sun...and so here we are at the beginning where we'll set off from again...the champagne must be getting to my head—end with this: let us gather our wits & put our best foot forward to begin!
