We know God by consciousness like ears can see and eyes can hear—and can they not? By faith alone, perhaps. They say God's commandments were written in stone like the grooves in a record for Moses, the first DJ who dropped the needle, brought the spin, for his people to know God's songs of retribution, of honey and milk, the tracklist in that order—hear the steps, see the treaded trail and kicked up dust of 40 years in the desert…How many mirages were heard? What wailing howls seen painting the wailing winds? And here we sit, 40-and-some-change spent to sit in this big fancy restaurant, at the crossroads where ears meet eyes to discuss what is, here in consciousness, wondering when God will arrive...or whether that's him over there, behind the bar, polishing a glass with a knowing smile....
