Profound & Feminine

Transcription
Can a man who writes poems
be profound & feminine
like Sylvia Plath?
Can his poem?
His best bet might be
to sit back & consider
the fig tree, the endless
branching out of possibility,
to think of all possible poems
hanging in blank potential,
to smoke a cigarette,
watch them rot on the vine
as he runs out of time
& lets the dart
burn to the filter,
burn the lips
from which it hangs
in suspense...
“Every woman adores a fascist..."
With lines like that, what chance does any man have
of being as profound & feminine
as Sylvia Plath?
