— I waited so long, I must have forgotten my name. It was the eternity before creation, even before Adam and Eve, if I had to say. I waited. Sometimes I dream that I'm still waiting. And then, one day, just like that—you came. That's how these things go, sometimes, they just end abruptly, or abruptly, they begin. I'm thankful every day, Eyla, my daughter, my everything, my love, that you finally came to me, and that you helped me remember my name: Mon.
